Tee Designs
At Label Industries, one of my main roles was designing and illustrating T-shirts. I am well versed in many different printing techniques such as screen-print, DTG printing, and DTF Heat Transfers.
One of the most important aspects of this job was learning the various parameters and limitations to each printing technique, and adjusting my designs accordingly. For instance, with screen-print you have to work with a limited color palette. With DTF Heat transfers, the design has to be cut out with a machine, therefore you have to be conscious of small details.
All of these learning curves made me capable of adapting to changes in process and finding ways to think outside the box of usual design.
Process
My design process almost always begins with a pencil sketch. Once I have my ideas on paper, I can begin sketching on my iPad with Procreate where I do a bulk of my illustrating. I then take my artwork into Adobe Illustrator where I will convert to vector, add type, and make any finishing touches.
Finishing Touches…
Finally, the art is set up in proofs to show the client what the final print will look like on the garment.
Below are just a few examples of the many tees I have designed and illustrated during my years at Label Industries.
